Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive Sydney Arrive early this morning in Sydney.* Journey to your hotel; the remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Day 2 - Sydney Sightseeing Today is your day to explore the exciting metropolis of Sydney! Cross the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge for great views of the skyline. Scroll through downtown and the different neighborhoods, stopping for lunch, afternoon tea, and a little shopping. Spend the evening on a Sydney Harbour Cruise, where you can enjoy a contemporary Australian dinner, with the best views of the city.
Day 3 - Blue Mountains Day Tour Visit the Blue Mountains with a small group of fellow travelers. Enjoy "Breakfast with the Koalas" before you adventure into the majestic mountains, complete with thundering waterfalls and wild kangaroos. Take lunch before you head back to Sydney.
Day 4 - Sydney to Melbourne Enjoy your final day in Sydney, before your flight to Melbourne.*
Day 5 - Phillip Island Penguin Parade Traveling with a small group, today's your chance to discover Australian wildlife. Before you walk among the treetops at the Koala Conservation Center, visit one of Victoria's local wineries. Then, travel to the Nobbies on Phillip Island, for great views of the coast and the opportunity to get up-close and personal with the penguins. Return to Melbourne for the evening.
Day 6 - Melbourne to Hobart Fly from Melbourne, across the Bass Strait, to Tasmania.*
Day 7 - Port Arthur Day Tour See the historic sights of Hobart, as well as the beautiful Tasmanian coastline. Travel to Port Arthur, where you'll learn about Tasmania's first settlers: the convicts, while viewing ruins of their settlement. Take a cruise around the harbor before returning to Hobart.
Day 8 - Hobart to Melbourne to Adelaide Spend the day in travel to Adelaide.*
Day 9 - Barossa Valley Day Tour Enjoy the views of the Valley, while you relax for lunch in a remote villa. Spend the afternoon exploring the Valley's famous Australia Vineyards and Wineries.
Day 10 - Adelaide to Uluru/Ayers Rock By lunchtime, arrive at Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.* This afternoon, adventure in the park, past the domes of Kata Tjuta, enjoying views of the endless Outback landscape. See the stunning color changes as the sun sets over Uluru, before you relax under the stars at the memorable Sound of Silence Dinner.
Day 11 - Uluru/Ayers Rock Sightseeing See the sunrise over the famous Rock and enjoy breakfast before you set out to explore Uluru with local Aboriginal guides. In addition to learning a history of the land and ancient culture, you will see demonstrations of ancient bush skills (including how to light a fire without matches).
Day 12 - Ayers Rock/Darwin Travel to Darwin, Australia's northernmost city.* The afternoon is at leisure to explore the city.
Day 13 - Darwin to Kakadu National Park Tour by coach to Kakadu National Park. See ancient Nourlangie Rock art sites, followed by a river cruise. Keep your eyes peeled for crocodiles!
Day 14 - Kakadu National Park to Darwin Today, discover Kakadu's best Aboriginal art site, Ubirr, and cruise the East Alligator River, before you arrive back in Darwin, for the evening.
Day 15 - Darwin to Cairns Fly to Cairns - Australia's Great Barrier Reef capital.*
Day 16 - Great Barrier Reef Cruise Travel north to Port Douglas, where you will cruise the Outer Reef. Return to shore, where you will have plenty of time to swim and snorkel.
Day 17 - Kuranda Tour Again traveling north, start today's adventures at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Culture Park, where you can view and learn about traditional Aboriginal dances and practices. After lunch, jump aboard the Skyrail, taking you through the beautiful rainforest. Explore the village of Kuranda, shopping for local arts and crafts, before you return to Cairns via the impressive Barron Falls.
Day 18 - Cairns to Brisbane Fly to the sunny city of Brisbane.*
Day 19 - Australia Zoo Visit Steve Irwin's famous Australia Zoo. The Zoo offers several shows and demonstrations throughout the day, allowing you several opportunities to get close! (That is, if you so desire!)
Day 20 - Leave Brisbane Transfer to the airport, to catch your flight back home.*
6 Day/5 Night Extension into Western Australia
(This extension begins on Day 10 of the main itinerary. After the extension, the tour again joins the main itinerary, where it left off.)
Day 10 and 11 - Adelaide to The Indian Pacific Train This afternoon, go aboard the transcontinental train - your home for the next 2 days and nights. Enjoy the fantastic views of the landscape and a short stop in the frontier town of Kalgoorlie.
Day 12 - Perth Arrive this morning in Western Australia's capital, Perth. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the city.
Day 13 - Margaret River Tour Largely regarded as Australia's premier wine region, enjoy wine-tasting before you visit Eagle Raptor Center and Mammoth Cave. See Boranup Forest, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, and Busselton Jetty before you return to Perth.
Day 14 - Nambung National Park Tour Home of the Pinnacles Desert, Nambung has plenty of interesting landscapes for you to explore. See koalas as a local wildlife park, and then head out in a 4WD over sand dunes. If you are really adventurous, try your hand at sand boarding. The park is also famous for its gorgeous wildflowers.
Day 15 - Perth to Uluru/Ayers Rock Fly to Uluru/Ayers Rock.* (There, you will again rejoin the main itinerary at Day 10.)
