Suggested Itinerary (pdf)

Day 1: Arrive Sydney

Upon arrival at Sydney airport, catch a taxi to your hotel: The Intercontinental Sydney.  In a fantastic location, this hotel boosts panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and the Royal Botanic Gardens.  Unpack in your Executive Suite, as this will be your home for the next 4 days.  Walk along the waterfront, enjoying your first evening in Australia.

Stay 4 nights: Intercontinental Sydney

Day 2: Sydney Day Tour

Today you will be privileged to have your own, personal tour of Sydney's highlights.  Learn the ins and outs of Australia's most famous city from your knowledgeable and friendly guide.  Homemade morning tea and lunch are provided.  This evening, dine at one of Sydney's premier restaurants or attend an event at the Opera House.

Day 3: Sydney at Leisure

A day completely at your leisure, explore sights and museums you didn't get a chance to see the day before.  Spend some time window shopping or head over to Bondi Beach.  Make sure to get plenty of sleep, tonight, in preparation for your Blue Mountains adventure, tomorrow.

Day 4: Blue Mountains

Early this morning, your tour guides will pick you up at your hotel.  With a small group of fellow travelers you'll journey to the Blue Mountains National Park.  Today, you will see ancient Aboriginal sites, rock formations, native flora and fauna, and memorable lookouts.  Enjoy a BBQ lunch, complete with Australia wines and cheese.  On the way back to your hotel, you'll catch a glimpse of the site of the 2000 Olympic Games.

Day 5: Sydney to Cairns to Lizard Island

You will have a private transfer to the airport, where you will catch your plane to Cairns.  From Cairns, transfer to your flight to Lizard Island - your retreat for the next 3 days and nights.

Stay 3 nights: Lizard Island

Day 6: Lizard Island at Leisure

Lizard Island is Australia's northernmost resort, a national park right on the Great Barrier Reef.  Home to 24 beaches and a lagoon, your days will be filled with all types of water activities: snorkeling, diving, sailing, and/or traveling out in the Reef in a glass-bottomed boat.

Day 7: Lizard Island at Leisure

Use your final day at Lizard Island to continue your activities from yesterday.  Otherwise, consider bushwalking, fishing, or pampering yourself at the resort's spa.

Day 8: Lizard Island to Cairns

Fly back to Cairns and then north to your hotel at Palm Cove.  Recognized as one of Australia's best beaches, spend your day relaxing in the sun.

Stay: Sea Temple Palm Cove

Day 9: Cairns to Adelaide

Catch your flight to South Australia's largest city: Adelaide.  An easy walk from your hotel is many of the city's highlights and some great restaurants.

Stay: Hyatt Regency Adelaide

Day 10: Adelaide to Kangaroo Island

A highlight of your trip will be the Cliff House on Kangaroo Island.  All about relaxation, the Cliff House is a "vacation within your vacation."  The best part will be the delicious meals in great surroundings.  As there are no restaurants, your meals will be under 150 year old fig trees, along the seafront, or request a private picnic along the coast.

Stay 3 nights: Lifetime Private Retreats Cliff House

Day 11: Kangaroo Island at Leisure

Attend a yoga class, sit on the seafront with a watercolor kit, or fly a kite.  Whatever you do, enjoy yourself!

Day 12: Kangaroo Island at Leisure

Enjoy high tea and a game of croquet or go snorkeling.  Otherwise, for an added cost, join a wildlife tour, have a massage, go scuba diving, or take cooking lessons.

Day 13: Return Home (or continue to Hobart - see below)

You vacation ends today upon return to the Adelaide airport.  But, it doesn't have to end here!  Consider our suggestion of adding a view days in Hobart, Tasmania.  Or, talk to a Travel Team agent for many, many other possibilities.

Hobart Addition Suggested Itinerary:

Day 13: Adelaide to Hobart

Travel to Australia's second oldest city: Hobart.  A small city of around 250,000 people, filled with impressive Georgian and Victorian architecture, Hobart is great fun to walk around.  Your hotel is the Henry Jones Hotel - consistently rated one of the world's best hotels.  Offering views of the Harbor and Mt. Wellington, you will feel pampered in your Calcutta Suite, complete with British Raj furnishings and an overflowing spa.

Stay 4 nights: Henry Jones Hotel

Day 14: Hobart Day Tour

Your private tour guide will show you the hot-spots of Hobart and the surrounding countryside.

Day 15: Port Arthur

Today's tour starts with some of the highlights of Hobart - including Salamanca Place (a busy Saturday marketplace) and Battery Point - before traveling across the Tasman Bridge, south to Dunalley.  You'll catch great coastline views along your way to Port Arthur: an industrial prison for convicts sent to Australia.  After lunch and a walk around the camp, cruise Carnavon Bay on a catamaran.  On the way back to Hobart, the tour will stop for a visit in Richmond, an 1870's village.

Day 16: Hobart at Leisure

Today is your day to explore Hobart at leisure, and your last full day in Australia.  Consider another day tour, walk or bike around the city, or spend the day shopping.

Day 17: Return Home

After you check-out from your hotel, your private transfer will drive you to the airport.
